COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

***IMPORTANT NOTE***

  • Our pies are Fully Baked, which means that you only have to reheat the pie as opposed to a full cook. Please follow the instructions below for the best results.

Step 1: Defrost the pie

  • The best method for defrosting our pies is to place the pie in the fridge the day before you intend on eating it.
  • The second best method is to defrost the pie in a Microwave. If you struggle to find the appropriate settings, set the microwave to HIGH power and reheat for approx. 2 minutes per pie. If you see the sauce overflowing, remove immediately.

(READ STEP 2 BEFORE DEFROSTING)

Step 2: Preheat the oven

  • Set the oven to 180 degrees celsius and pre-heat for 15 minutes.

Step 3: Reheat the pie in the oven

  • Carefully take the baking tray out of the oven with heat safe gloves or similar equipment.
  • Place pie on the baking tray and put back into oven. 
  • Reheat pie for approx. 20 – 25 minutes if frozen; OR
  • Reheat pie for approx. 10 – 15 minutes if fully defrosted.

Step 4: Take the pie out of the oven when reheated and let rest

(REMOVE PIE IF SAUCE IS OVERFLOWING AT ANY STAGE OR PASTRY LOOKS LIKE IT IS BURNING)

  • If you have a food thermometer, place that into centre of pie and ensure temperature is greater than 60 degrees celcius.
  • Let the pie rest outside the oven at room temperature for approx. 5 minutes.

Step 5: Eat and enjoy!

  • Consider cutting the pie down the middle to make for easier consumption.
  • Provided you have cut the pie in half, consider lightly touching the pie filling with your index finger to determine heat.
